~ When to visit ~
The forest, by month.
Each season is its own Tadoba.

The forest waking up
October to mid-November
Reserve reopens 1 October. Grass still tall, waterholes full, forest at its greenest. Tiger sightings lower than peak — but birding is at its best as migratory raptors and warblers arrive.
The comfort window
Mid-November to February
Cool mornings (10–14°C at dawn — carry layers), excellent visibility, tigers moving between waterholes more predictably. The most comfortable window for first-time visitors.
The heat begins
March to mid-April
Daytime temperatures climb past 35°C. Foliage drops further, waterholes shrink, and tiger activity around them spikes. Sighting rates rise sharply.
Peak tiger sightings
Mid-April to June
The hottest stretch — 42–45°C in May. The forest is dry, animals concentrate around waterholes, and sightings approach 80%+ across a four-safari package. Bring sunblock and hydration salts.
Monsoon
July to September
Tadoba's core zones close 1 July to 30 September. Buffer zones stay open with limited permits — quiet, lush, and excellent for serious naturalists. Pangdi buffer is especially worthwhile.
